Kurylenko will star as Marie Curie in the Luc Besson-produced biopic RAD, set for a release in late 2011. French rugby player Sébastien Chabal will portray Pierre Curie. The film will focus on Marie's discovery of radium and the couple's subsequent escape from German spies trying to steal the secret of the atomic bomb.

That same year, she was selected to be the face of Kenzo's new fragrance, Kenzo Amour. She has appeared in all subsequent Kenzo Amour ads. She had a minor role in Max Payne as Natasha. She played Bond girl Camille Montes in the 2008 James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. The film was released in the United States on her 29th birthday.

In the secretive world of movie spy James Bond, the "Bond girl" for the new installment in the movie series had been top secret, but on Monday Bond's backers said Ukrainian bombshell Olga Kurylenko is the actress.

A mere six months after graduating from Rada, 21-year-old Gemma Arterton has been named as the next Bond girl, but even though Arterton has a role in the new film it is not as large as Kurylenko's, said a source close to the film. Artenton is actually playing the role of MI6 Agent Fields.

Miss Kurylenko has been cast in preference to a list of names including the likes of Cameron Diaz and Lindsay Lohan to star in Daniel Craig's second Bond movie.

Filming on Bond 22 (the working title) has already started at Pinewood Studios, led by the Kite Runner director Marc Forster who also won an Oscar for Finding Neverland. The movie is due for release on 7 November.

In her careers as a top European model, Kurylenko has appeared in numerous advertising campaigns for such designers as Kenzo, Helena Rubenstein and Just Cavalli. Her magazine covers include US Glamour, French Elle and Marie Claire.
