Pamela Anderson has long held the enviable status of being one of the world's most desirable women.

But everyone has bad days, and yesterday the former Baywatch star went for a stroll in New York's Central Park with her 10-year-old son Dylan and a mystery man looking worn-out and uncharacteristically dowdy.

The 41-year-old may not have been looking her best but, proving she still knows how to accessorise, was carrying a designer bag.

However, just hours later and Pamela had undergone a complete turnaround.

Arriving to film an appearance on The David Letterman Show, the mother-of-two looked stunning in a tight white dress that showed off her best-known assets. Earlier this month, Pamela enjoyed a two-hour stint on Australia's Big Brother reality TV show.

Despite being paid a reported £245,000 for her guest appearance on the KFC-sponsored show, the star took part in a People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) protest against the fast-food eatery just one day later.

Vegan animal rights campaigner Pamela took to the streets with fellow protesters demanding the fried chicken giants implement better guidelines for treating the birds.

She said she was unaware the chain was partially funding the reality show prior to signing up.

Previously during summer 2005, she was busy shooting Incubus in Romania at an assortment of clubs with Bucharest's local socialites. In January 2007, Reid filmed a commercial with Daniel Conn for Dodo, an Australian budget phone and Internet provider. Reid appeared in the September 2007 issue of FHM magazine.

Hollywood sweetheart Meg Ryan has taken drastic measures to shed her saccharine image.

The actress, 46, has gained TEN STONE in a new movie comedy called 'My Mom's Hot Boyfriend.'

But unlike some of Hollywood's yo-yo dieting actresses, the weight gain is only temporary as the actress' 18 stone transformation came courtesy of a very convincing fat suit.

Meg's metamorphosis from girl next door to the porky neighbour took three hours in the make-up trailer each day to create.

She added: 'She was enormous, and now she's foxy.'

Ironically, Colin Hanks - son of her 'Sleepless in Seattle' and 'You've Got Mail' co-star Tom Hanks - plays her on-screen son.

Yet it's not so much the bright red two-piece causing the sensation but the show-stopping, 62-year-old body of Dame Helen Mirren that fills it.

These jaw-dropping snaps of the Oscar-winning actress frolicking on rocks with her husband in Italy evoke memories of sexpots Ursula Andress and Brigitte Bardot in their heyday.

As one British commentator remarked, Mirren looks better in a bikini than most women four decades younger than her could.

When the photographs were published in Britain's Daily Mail newspaper last week - and replicated extensively online - they caused a frenzy.

The majority, however, were more along the lines of: "Wow Helen! You look fantastic. I wish I looked as good as you and I am 10 years younger!"

Actress Joan Collins, no slouch herself at 75, was moved enough by the public's palpable surprise in finding a woman in her 60s truly sexy that she wrote a newspaper article about it.

"Everyone seemed rather amazed that she was looking so good just days short of her 63rd birthday," Collins said last week.

"Yet there are flocks of women in their 50s, 60s and 70s who still look sexy and absolutely wonderful whether in or out of a swimsuit.

"I certainly applaud Dame Helen for wearing a bikini on which she obviously thought was an extremely secluded stretch of beach."

The photographs were taken in Puglia, on the southern tip of Italy, where Mirren and her American film-director husband Taylor Hackford, 63, own a 500-year-old castle.

The grounds feature a mature vineyard and overlook the Mediterranean sea. Mirren reportedly bought the property to celebrate her Best Actress Oscar win for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II.

Long known as the thinking man's sex symbol through her work in theatre and films, Dame Helen achieved mainstream fame playing the no-nonsense Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison in the television series Prime Suspect.

Sex tape of Madonna and Alex Rodriguez

MADONNA is reportedly at the centre of a sex tape scandal.

A cameraman claims to have a video of Madonna and baseball player Alex Rodriguez romping on a sofa.

He is trying to sell the tape - allegedly shot with a hidden camera in an apartment owned by a friend of the cameraman which was used by the couple for secret liaisons - for £1 million ($2.05 million).

The unnamed owner of the tape claims he visited the property and hid a camera, pointed at the sofa which captured the X-rated footage two months ago.

A legal source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper that the implications of the secret filming could be dire for the cameraman, saying: "If footage was obtained in this way it would be an outrageous invasion of privacy. But more than that he would not have had his friend's consent to install the camera and must have entered the apartment without approval to hide it.

"He would be guilty of voyeurism. Instead of making a million he'd be going to jail for a few years."

Madonna, 49, has vehemently denied rumours she has been having an affair with baseball player Alex - nicknamed A-Rod - and has repeatedly denied reports of a rift in her marriage to Guy Ritchie.

Madonna's lawyers are "aware" of the sex tape claims, but have refused to comment further.

Meanwhile, Madonna has reportedly rearranged her forthcoming Sticky and Sweet world tour so she can attend the premiere of Guy's new movie RocknRolla and his 40th birthday party on September 10th.

The alleged sex tape comes as several friends of Rodriguez claim that his estranged wife Cynthia Rodriguez "brainwashed him," according to the New York Daily News.

"Alex has always been into psychotherapy, making himself mentally stronger," a longtime confidante told the paper. "Cynthia has a master's degree in psychology. Once she found out how vulnerable he was, she got into his head. Several of us begged him not to marry this woman, but he did it anyway."
